The Disabled Persons Commission works with government and community partners to promote issues concerning persons with disabilities throughout Nova Scotia.  The following is an overview of current and ongoing projects the DPC is actively involved in.

Information, Education and Awareness

Increase the visibility of the DPC and make the disability community, government and the general public better aware of the issues, programs and services available to and concerned persons with disabilities.

Accessibility

Work to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to programs, supports, and services neccessary for full inclusion and citizenship.

Research, Policy Analysis and Partnerships related to Disability Supports

Become an active participant in research, policy analysis and partnership development to ensure all persons with disabilities have adequate levels of support to fully participate in their communities.

Employability of Persons with Disabilities

Promote a continuum of employment opportunities for persons with disabilities that include paid employment, supported employment and volunteering.
