Large- scale emergencies can and do happen in Nova Scotia.  Since 2003, the Disabled Persons Commission has worked with EMO Nova Scotia,The Department of Community Services (Emergency Social Services), the Halifax Regional Emergency Management Office and Members of the disability community to ensure persons with disabilities are informed of what they can do to prepare for an emergency. 

In its Second Edition, The Are You Ready? booklet offers partical tips for Nova Scotians of all ages and abilities.
